MSEL have created a model that calculates the proportion of individual fish and types of fish species that a reserve of a given size can be expected to protect.

It helps users optimize decisions on the size of local MPAs by calculating the proportion of the possible maximum number of individuals of each target species that will be effectively protected in MPAs of various conceivable sizes.

 This tool has been developed under the World Bank-funded Capturing Coral Reef and Related Ecosystems Project (CCRES). The tool and its manual are downloadable. Click on the button below.
